I would like to know if the 60-day rule to IRA’s also applies to Uni-K/401K’s

Q: I would like to know if the 60-day rule to IRA’s also applies to Uni-K/401K’s? This would be regarding a withdrawal that is redeposited within 60 days.

A: Yes, with a few exceptions. The 60-day rollover rule applies to rollovers from eligible employer-sponsored retirement plans (most Uni-K/401k’s) and IRAs.  Generally, they must be completed by the 60th day after the date a distribution is received to avoid taxation per IRC Sections 408(d)(3)(A) and 402(c)(3).
